8. NSW LandXML - Occupations
Occupations are divided into 3 categories
- Occupations of a lineal nature such as party walls, walls fences etc
- Occupations at intersections of two roads with offsets from both
- Occupations of a point nature such as fence posts or a single point on a wall etc
Procedure
It is more convenient to create a new layer called "Occupations" and all strings and points
associated with Occupations must be on this layer.
Create each feature as a string sequenced as if walking along the feature with the hatching
representing the substance of the occupation always on the right hand side of the line being defined.
Select each string, enter the description in the name field and set the plan to be the new plan name.
The string type must be STRUCTURE.
Select a point where you want to insert text (e.g. boundary offset), and set parameters as follows:
- The point name, type, and origin Survey fields are left blank
- The State, will be "new" if it is the first time the occupation has been identified on a plan or "existing" if the occupation has been shown in a previous plan.
- Desc contains the offset measurement at 90° from the boundary either clear or over. The "desc" attribute will record the offset value. It may be bracketed and can include texts such as (K-Bld 3.66), (KL -Wall 3.66), (3.66 Cnr Bk) etc.
Where a building or other occupation is located at the intersection of two roads and offsets
are recorded to both from the same point on the occupation, enter the point with reference
to the relevant road names included. eg., (0.02) Smith St and (0.05) Fred St.
